Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) Analyst – Modeling & SimulationLocation: Pasadena, CA – On-siteContract Duration: Through December 2027Level: SeniorSecurity Clearance: This position REQUIRES a U.S. Citizen who is eligible to obtain any required Export AuthorizationPriority: HighPosition OverviewWe are seeking a senior Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) Analyst to support instrument modeling and simulation projects. This role focuses on developing, maintaining, and validating high-fidelity behavioral simulations of electromechanical actuators and sensors.The position will work closely with engineering teams, external vendors, and hardware suppliers to ensure simulation models accurately represent physical systems and can be incorporated into larger system-level simulations.ResponsibilitiesMaintain, modify, and develop high-fidelity behavioral simulations of electromechanical actuators and sensors.Tune and validate simulations against actual testbed data to ensure physical accuracy.Use high-fidelity models for risk reduction activities and to establish technical requirements for future mechanism designs.Create and maintain low-fidelity surrogate models that approximate actuator behavior for use in larger integrated system simulations.Complete rapid-turnaround modeling and analysis tasks, typically within 2–3 week cycles.Present study results through clear plots, visualizations, and PowerPoint presentations.Maintain and update the primary simulation environment to support project stakeholders.Participate in vendor meetings and technical reviews to gather design information and incorporate hardware and software specifications into behavioral models.Provide support across other GNC functions as project needs and workload require.Translate complex simulation data into clear technical presentations for internal and external stakeholders.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM field.Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.Expert-level proficiency with MATLAB and Simulink.Familiarity with signal processing.Experience creating and maintaining behavioral models of complex electromechanical systems.Experience with high-bandwidth mechatronics and dynamics.Experience with the research and development of precision pointing systems.Experience transitioning high-fidelity research models into low-fidelity flight or system models.Experience working directly with external vendors and hardware suppliers.Ability to work with different vendor-provided simulation environments, workflows, and data formats.Ability to communicate technical results through plots, visualizations, and professional presentations.Ability to work through ambiguous technical requirements and shift between different technical tasks.Preferred QualificationsAbility to work effectively in a complex, multi-task, schedule-driven environment.Ability to work independently with minimal day-to-day oversight.Clearance / Citizenship RequirementsActive and transferable TS/SCI security clearance is preferred.U.S. citizenship is required due to security clearance requirements.Must be eligible to obtain any required export authorization.
