: MechanicREPORTS TO : Plant ManagerSUMMARY: Perform repair of large diesel and gas engines, tanks, and pick-up trucks. Maintains repair logs and scheduled maintenance programs for all rolling stock. Performs driver and delivery duties on an as-needed basis.STAFF: NoneDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESPerform repair and maintenance on all plant rolling stock to assure good condition of vehicles.Oversee maintenance program on all rolling stock and complete repair logs as required.Fill in for driver/delivery persons on an as needed basis.Responsible for keeping work area in a clean and safety conscious environment.Perform all other duties in mechanical or driver areas as requested by the Plant Manager.Keep abreast of legal requirements for trucks and heavy equipment and assure company equipment meets these requirements.Perform maintenance and repair at the plant, marina, fuel dock, gas station, as needed.Other work-related duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESREQUIREMENTS: Must carry a current commercial driver's license (CDL) with required endorsements and have a good driving record.Must be willing to work some overtime during busy seasons and be available for call-outs.Must be professional and courteous with customers at all times.Must be able to work well with others and perform a variety of duties.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must have a current commercial driver's license (CDL) with a hazmat endorsement.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSLANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read, analyze, and interpret technical repair manuals and procedures. Ability to respond to common inquiries or mechanical failure reports from employees, customers, or service providers. Ability to write and effectively communicate to facilitate problem resolutions.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThis is an extensive physical position that requires constant mobility of varying types depending on the project. An individual may need to sit, stand, crawl or lie down as needed. May require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required. Proper lifting techniques required. Must be able to occasionally lift 75 lbs., routinely lift 50 lbs.WORK ENVIRONMENTThe performance of this position requires constant exposure to industrial areas.
