Floor Technician

TitleFloor TechnicianJob DescriptionJob OverviewThe Floor Technician will be responsible for safely performing assigned floor care functions based on standards and procedures, performs environmental services as needed, and performs floor care such as waxing, stripping, buffing, and other contractual duties according to regulations.Roles & ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully and safely, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Stop at risk behaviors in others and selfWork with other employees in a team to complete assignmentsPerform repetitive tasksMaintain clean work areaFollow all company procedures, policies, and rulesTake direction and respond to supervisionTalk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional mannerFill in during staff shortages, such as in custodial, recycle, or maintenanceSupport shift lead in completing punch-list itemsUse proper personal protective equipment that is required for assigned tasksPresent a professional appearance and conductUnderstand customer service and satisfaction.Understand reporting systems, and of the environmentOperate motorized cleaning equipmentMaintain daily upkeep of assigned areaPerform cleaning and maintenance of all floors: tile, carpet , and brick flooringComplete work assignments in a timely mannerUtilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedureUse and maintain equipment properlyOperate and maintain all equipment correctly and safelyAlways observe safety precautions, using safety signs “wet floor”Ability to work without normal supervisionReport safety hazards as appropriateQualificationTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.Education and/ or Experience: No education requirement 6 mo-1 year experience preferred: or equivalent combination of education and experience.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: May be required to have a valid driver’s license Complete all safety and task training certification May be required to be forklift certifiedKnowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesAbility to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documentsStrong verbal and written communication skillsKnowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with teamKnowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipmentKnowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient useSupervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.Physical Demands & Work EnvironmentThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
