Transportation Supervisor

A transportation supervisor oversees and coordinates all daily transportation operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and costeffective movement of goods, materials, or passengers. This role manages drivers and dispatch staff, develops routing and scheduling plans, monitors fleet performance, and ensures all activities comply with federal, state, and company safety regulations. The supervisor handles operational issues as they arise, responds to delays or service disruptions, and works closely with warehouse, logistics, and customer service teams to maintain smooth workflow across departments. They are responsible for training and evaluating employees, maintaining accurate operational records, tracking key performance indicators, and implementing process improvements that enhance productivity and reduce costs. Strong leadership, communication, and problemsolving skills are essential, along with a solid understanding of DOT regulations, fleet maintenance practices, and transportation management systems.
