Technical Program ManagerWashington DC (Hybrid) · Permanent · $93,000 - $160,000 base + equityThis role will suit a mid level Technical Program Manager or Delivery Lead who has had hardware in their critical path!You will own the schedule, the interfaces between groups, and the delivery process itself, which does not exist yet because the team is new. You will sit between a science team fusing raw sensor data into tracks, engineers building the 3D interface an operator acts on, and field deployment onto edge hardware in austere locations.The ideal candidates must have 2+ years running technical programmes with delivery targets.Managed technical projects covering rendering, simulation, data pipelines,Owned a delivery outcome with a date, a dependency set, a customer at the other end.3D, geospatial, telemetry, simulation, sensor data, digital twins.Deployment - Docker, containers, cloud plus on-premises, edge hardware, or installing software onsite.THE ROLEOwn the delivery date across engineering, science and field teams you do not line manage.Hold the interfaces between groups: what the sensor fusion team owes the interface team, and by when.Build the delivery cadence from a blank page, including sprint governance, scoping and release rhythm.Re-plan when something slips, and have the conversation with whoever it slipped onto.Translate product direction into technical goals and team-level tasks.Keep visibility across cloud, on-premises and edge deployments of the same software.Support rollout and adoption alongside the engineers who deploy in the field.NICE TO HAVEDefence, government or regulated-industry delivery exposure.Hardware-in-the-loop, field trial or site acceptance experience.Familiarity with containerised deployment and edge compute.Exposure to sensor, robotics or autonomy programmes.A prior security clearance, lapsed or active.A deployment or launch engineering, robotics programme, ex-military or solutions architecture background is welcome.
