Substitute Kitchen Cook
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable cook to join our team as an on-call sub. As a cook, you will assist in food preparation, serving food to students, and maintaining a clean kitchen and service area. An on-call sub is one who will be called in to work when someone is off for the day or when we need additional help in the kitchen.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Able to lift up to 50 pounds, bend twist, and stand for more than 2 hours at a time
General knowledge of kitchen and food service required.
Willingness to learn new processes and work in a team environment required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepares work area and serves food for K-12 students, breakfast and lunch.
Washes dishes after every meal.
Prepares fresh fruit and vegetables daily.
Maintain a clean & sanitary work and service area.
Attends workshops and seminars to help improve food programs
Helps plan menus and make food substitutions as needed.
Reports any food shortages necessary for meal preparations.
Maintain pantries and refrigerator & freezer in orderly manner
Date stamp all open food containers.
Assist with stocking pantry
observing all rules and regulations as set by the BOE and Health Department.
Other duties as assigned.
Reports to the Food Service Supervisor.

Pay: $14.00 per hour
