1+ YEAR CONTRACT / 90-95HR / MUST HAVE PEOPLESOFT EXPERTISE / RHODE ISLANDw2 ONLYThe Manager of Enterprise Applications oversees a team of IT professionals responsible for supporting and advancing the University’s core ERP systems, with a primary focus on PeopleSoft (PS) deployed in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). This role ensures enterprise applications are aligned with institutional business processes while maintaining a stable, secure, and scalable PeopleSoft environment. The Manager leads both day‑to‑day operational support and major PeopleSoft lifecycle initiatives, including upgrades, patches, integrations, and infrastructure optimization.This position applies ITSM best practices across operations—focusing on Incident, Problem, and Change Management—while driving continuous service improvement through performance metrics and operational maturity. The Manager plays a key leadership role in developing staff capabilities, managing workload prioritization, and serving as a technical advisor to University leadership on ERP strategy, automation, cost, and risk.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPeopleSoft Platform & Infrastructure LeadershipBuild, maintain, and optimize the PeopleSoft (Campus Solutions / Financials / HCM as applicable) infrastructure in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), ensuring high availability, performance, and security.Own the end‑to‑end PeopleSoft environment, including application tiers, databases, integrations, batch processing, upgrades, patches, and cloud infrastructure coordination.Lead and manage major PeopleSoft upgrades, lifecycle events, and remediation initiatives, ensuring minimal disruption and adherence to best practices.ERP Service Management & OperationsManage and coordinate all aspects of core ERP services, including mapping functional business processes to system capabilities and documenting configurations, customizations, and bolt‑ons.Ensure reliable day‑to‑day operational support for PeopleSoft, including monitoring, issue resolution, and proactive system health management.Apply ITSM / ITIL processes to ERP operations, with demonstrated leadership in Incident, Problem, and Change Management.Project & Delivery LeadershipLead ERP‑related IT projects from initiation through completion, including PeopleSoft enhancements, integrations, infrastructure modernization, and cloud initiatives.Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets; coordinate cross‑functional teams; track risks and dependencies; and ensure timely, high‑quality delivery aligned with University goals.Continuous Improvement & Cost OptimizationWork closely with functional user offices to minimize total cost of ownership (TCO) for administrative systems while ensuring institutional requirements are met.Drive continuous service improvement through the use of operational metrics, SLAs, KPIs, and performance reporting.Team Leadership & Workforce ManagementDirectly manage and lead a team of PeopleSoft and ERP support professionals, providing hands‑on leadership for daily operations and strategic initiatives.Ensure staff work is appropriately sequenced, prioritized, tracked, and reported, including workload allocation, time tracking, and future capacity planning.Foster staff development through skill mapping, training plans, coaching, and performance management, recommending development priorities to ITS leadership.Collaboration & Strategic EngagementCollaborate closely with departmental leadership, functional offices, and distributed IT teams to advance institutional and technical objectives.Serve as the primary technical advisor for PeopleSoft and ERP platforms, evaluating solutions based on feature set, automation opportunities, cost, scalability, and risk.Gather input from the user community, develop cohesive remediation and enhancement plans, and present recommendations to IT and University leadership.Required Profile (Implied)Deep PeopleSoft technical and functional experience, including upgrades and production operationsExperience managing PeopleSoft in Oracle CloudProven leadership of ERP operations teamsStrong grounding in ITSM / ITIL practicesExperience in higher education or similarly governed environments
