Carilion Clinic is a nationally recognized, not-for-profit health system advancing the health of our communities and the nation through comprehensive patient care, education and research.With a network of seven hospitals, more than 250 physician practices and a range of health and wellness services, Carilion cares for nearly 1 million Virginians and West Virginians annually.Partnerships with premier institutions such as Virginia Tech and Radford University help us train tomorrow's medical providers, discover new treatments and techniques and enhance patient care.We are proud of the 13 accredited residency programs, psychiatry being one.In addition, Carilion Clinic has 16 accredited fellowships, two of which are based in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine:Addiction Medicine and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.As a member of the Carilion Clinic Medical team, our faculty are invited to participate in research projects and contribute meaningfully to evidence-based practice.We are specifically recruiting a full time inpatient provider, who will become a member of a four provider inpatient team.This position will oversee clinical leadership of a multidisciplinary treatment team including psychiatric residents and medical students providing quality psychiatric care to an acute, adult inpatient population. The typical case load is 10-12 patients daily with an average length of stay of 5-7 days.The position includes an academic appointment at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine.Requirements:Degree from an accredited medical schoolABPN board certification or eligibilitySuccessful completion of accredited residency in PsychiatrySkilled in interpersonal communication, including the ability to effectively communicate with patients and families.About CarilionAt Carilion, our employees know they can depend on each other to give their all every day, working together to do the job right.
