This role is a cornerstone of our clinical operationssupporting surgical and wellness services, shelter animal health, and providing compassionate patient care from intake to discharge. As a key team member, you will help ensure every animal we treat receives safe, appropriate, and quality care.What Youll Do :Surgery & Wellness CareTriage patients and communicate concerns to the veterinarianProvide hands-on medical care throughout surgical & wellness proceduresAssist veterinarians during surgery and wellness examsMaintain drug logs, databases, and accurate patient recordsAdminister vaccines, tests, medications, and treatmentsMaintain clean, sterile workspaces and appropriate medical inventoryShelter Medicine & Animal WellnessMonitor overall health of shelter & foster animalsAdminister appropriate treatments and medical careMaintain accurate medical recordsMaintain a safe, healthy, properly supplied shelter environmentEnsure adoption-ready animals are fully vaccinated, sterilized, and microchippedStay informed on current animal welfare practicesWhat You BringEducation & QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentAssociates degree (preferred but not required)Physical RequirementsAbility to stand or sit for 8+ hoursAbility to repeatedly lift 50 lbsGood fine motor skills, vision, hearing, balance, and mobilityAbility to kneel, bend, climb, and navigate tight spacesAbility to work in varying environmental temperaturesEmotional & Mental StrengthWe know this work is deeply meaningfuland sometimes emotionally difficult:Ability to stay calm under stressAbility to respond quickly to medical situations (with training)Ability to process information and make informed decisionsResilience when coping with loss, medical complications, or euthanasiaCapacity to lead, delegate, and support othersAbility to ask for help and work as part of a team
