We are united by a common mission: to deliver services and technology that fundamentally change how skilled workers and the businesses they serve get hard work done.Job DescriptionThe Project Controls Advisor / Cost Engineer provides leadership and expertise in project controls, supporting a diverse portfolio of projects. This role partners with cross-functional teams to enhance cost and schedule predictability, ensure accurate forecasting, and maintain disciplined change management practices.The position serves as a trusted advisor, applying standardized project controls methodologies while adapting approaches to meet varying project risks and execution challenges. The role requires strong analytical capabilities, effective communication, and the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple functions and regions.ResponsibilitiesProvide project controls and cost engineering support across a portfolio of projects, including complex and multi-disciplinary initiatives.Ensure consistent application of project controls standards, processes, and best practices.Act as a key interface between project teams, finance, supply chain, and other stakeholders.Cost Management & ForecastingDevelop and maintain cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts, including Estimate at Completion (EAC).Support business planning and long-range forecasting activities.Analyze cost performance, trends, and variances, and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.Schedule & Performance IntegrationCollaborate with planners and schedulers to integrate cost, schedule, and progress measurement.Monitor project performance against targets and identify risks and opportunities.Support milestone tracking and schedule performance analysis.Change Management & RiskLead or support change management processes related to scope, cost, and schedule adjustments.Contribute to risk identification, assessment, and contingency planning.Participate in project reviews, lessons learned, and continuous improvement efforts.Reporting & Data ManagementMaintain project controls systems and ensure data accuracy and transparency.Develop and deliver reports, dashboards, and executive summaries using data visualization tools.Support data analytics and benchmarking initiatives.Collaboration & DevelopmentMentor and support less experienced team members.Share best practices and promote knowledge transfer across teams.Collaborate with global and cross-functional stakeholders to drive consistency and efficiency.Skills and QualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related field.Strong experience in project controls and cost engineering within industrial, energy, or infrastructure environments.Proficiency in cost estimating, budgeting, forecasting, progress measurement, and change management.Experience working across multiple projects or programs with diverse stakeholders.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.PreferredExperience with asset retirement, decommissioning, remediation, or late-life asset projects.Familiarity with stage-gate project delivery frameworks or similar methodologies.Experience with project controls and analytics tools (e.g., cost management systems, ERP platforms, data visualization tools).Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority in cross-functional environments.Professional certifications such as AACE, PMP, or equivalent.Key CompetenciesStrategic and analytical thinkingStrong business and financial acumenRisk-based decision makingClear and concise communicationCollaboration across diverse teams and environmentsJob DetailsPay: $120/per hrLocation: Covington, LASchedule: 7:30 - 4:30Candidates must be local and able to adhere to hybrid work schedule. 9/80 - Mon - Thurs in office, at home every other Friday
