This position is accepting applications until May 15, 2026.Key Responsibilities:Administers and participates in law enforcement activities in assigned state park areasEnforces license and permit requirements, detects violations, makes arrests, collects evidence, prepares cases, and testifies in courtCoordinates and conducts property and facility inspectionsDevelops and maintains public relations programsRepresents the department through public speaking, media contacts, constituent contacts, and educational programsPlans, assigns, reviews, and schedules work performance of park staffPrepares and submits budget and cost estimatesConducts studies and surveys and participates in training development and park maintenance activitiesPost Offer Conditions:If the selected applicant is not currently law enforcement certified, the agency will provide required trainingBenefits:Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance CoverageKansas Police and Fire Retirement plan and optional KPERS 457 deferred compensationPaid holidays, vacation leave, sick leave, and parental leaveMinimum Requirements:High School Diploma or GEDMust be 21 years of ageMust pass a background check, be a credible witness in court, and possess and maintain a valid driver’s licenseNecessary Special Requirements:Must be certified as a law enforcement officer by the Kansas Law Enforcement Training CommissionMust complete required law enforcement training and maintain certificationMust be eligible to carry a firearm and meet all legal eligibility requirementsMust pass a drug screening, physical exam, psychological evaluation, and polygraph for admission to the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center
