Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to join our team. In this role, you will support the repair and maintenance of industrial AC/DC electric motors and generators, using manual machine tools and balancing equipment. Your attention to detail and ability to interpret technical drawings will be key to your success.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate manual machining equipment including engine lathes, horizontal lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, and related tools
Use overhead cranes, gantry cranes, forklifts, and associated rigging safely
Perform precise mechanical measurements using tools such as dial indicators, micrometers, and vibration measurement instruments
Work according to safety standards and service center procedures
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience as a machinist in electric motor repair (preferred)
Proficient in using micrometers and other precision measuring tools
Skilled in operating various sizes of manual lathes
Familiarity with electro-plating equipment a plus
Solid math skills and mechanical aptitude
Ability to follow and retain training, safety, and operational procedures
Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods
Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
