DescriptionWe are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Controller to lead the financial operations of our growing multifamily management organization. This role is designed for a highly analytical leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can balance financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and long-term business strategy.The Controller will play a critical role in strengthening financial performance, improving processes, supporting executive decision-making, and ensuring organizational compliance across multiple entities and assets.This is an opportunity for a finance professional who wants to move beyond transactional accounting and become a true operational business partner.Key ResponsibilitiesLead all accounting and financial operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across the organization Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes, including analysis and variance reporting Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures to safeguard company assets Provide leadership with timely and actionable financial insights to support strategic decision-making Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes across multiple entities and communities Monitor organizational cash flow, banking activity, and investment strategies to optimize financial performance and minimize risk Coordinate audits and collaborate with external auditors, tax professionals, and financial partners Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial reporting and regulatory requirements Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reporting accuracy, and financial scalability as the organization grows Partner cross-functionally with operations, HR, and leadership teams to support company-wide initiatives and performance goalsWhat Success Looks LikeAccurate, timely, and reliable financial reporting Strong internal controls and risk management practices Improved financial visibility and operational decision support Efficient budgeting and forecasting processes with actionable insights Scalable accounting systems and procedures that support company growth Trusted partnership with leadership and operational teamsRequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required CPA preferred Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting and finance experience Experience managing financial operations across multiple entities or business structures Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls Proven ability to analyze financial data and translate findings into business recommendations Advanced proficiency with accounting systems, financial software, and Microsoft Excel Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skillsWork EnvironmentFast-paced, collaborative environment supporting multifamily operations and organizational growthAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with strong attention to detailPrimarily office-based roleCompensationCompetitive salary based on experience and qualificationsAnnual performance-based bonus opportunityComprehensive benefits packageAbout PRAXMPRAXM is a Midwest-based multifamily management company built on performance, collaboration, and accountability.
