Tax Manager

A lot of Tax Managers are already doing Director level responsibility.They just do not have the title, influence or support to match it.This firm knows that.After busy season, they realised something important:Their Tax Lead was spending too much time buried in review work instead of leading the team and advising clients properly.So they are hiring someone who can genuinely take ownership and help elevate the function.Not just clear returns.The Firm• Established 35+ years• Stable 20–30 person CPA firm• Strong long term client relationships• Hybrid setup: 3 days office / 2 days home• Real flexibility and adult environment• 8–9% year end bonus• 10% of first year billings on self generated businessThe WorkThis is a genuine leadership role within a firm heavily focused around:• Partnerships• S Corporations• High Net Worth individuals• Trusts• NonprofitsClient sizes range from smaller owner managed businesses through to companies generating significant revenue.You will:• Lead client relationships directly• Review and oversee work across the team• Mentor and develop staff• Improve workflow and processes• Be involved in planning and advisory conversations• Help free senior leadership from being trapped in the detailThis is not a “sit quietly and review returns” position.The Right Person• CPA required• Strong public accounting background• Comfortable leading clients and staff• Someone commercially minded who likes improving things• Able to balance technical strength with communication skillsThe Important BitThis role would suit someone currently at a larger regional or national firm who enjoys tax but is tired of:• constant layers of politics• unrealistic expectations• being treated like a production machine• leadership talking about balance while doing the oppositeThis firm is successful because they run things differently.People stay here.And leadership actually listens.If you are already thinking “I could run something like this better if someone gave me the opportunity” then you probably should apply.Applying is not a commitment.It is simply a conversation.
