Join us in creating a community of connected care, where coordinated, quality service is the norm and every member feels valued.The Tech Sr Complex Contract Manager role supporting Medica’s internal Tech teams will be accountable to partner with internal teams to negotiate complex and/or cross-functional contracts with Medica vendors.The Tech Sr Complex Contract Manager will be responsible for running negotiations for and partnering with the Sourcing and Category Management, Vendor Management and Legal teams to ensure contract terms meet business needs, price and performance requirements, and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. The Tech Sr Complex Contract Manager will lead strategy for negotiations that will include pricing, Medica-preferred terms and conditions, risk mitigation, and best-in-class service level performance agreements/guarantees. This role will work cross-functionally with Legal, Technology, Finance, and Operations to ensure deviations from Medica-preferred terms and conditions are properly considered in the context of the vendor’s services. Performs other duties as assigned.Key AccountabilitiesStrategic NegotiationExercise independent judgment when analyzing information and evaluating results to lead Medica business teams to the best negotiation strategy for the situationDevelop and negotiate complex contracts for products and services that include pricing, Medica-preferred terms and conditions, risk mitigation, and best-in-class service level performance agreements/guaranteesNavigate high-pressure situations to resolve conflicts effectivelyMaintain appropriate attention to detail while managing multiple complex negotiations at the same timeCollaborate and creatively solution with Medica attorneys when needed to ensure contract terms comply with legal and regulatory requirementsAnalyze contract terms to identify opportunities for improvementBusiness Relationship ManagementUtilize effective communication and collaboration skills to establish strong relationships with business partners to align on the strategic and tactical direction for vendor negotiationsCollaborate with multiple stakeholders and vendors to negotiate favorable contract terms and maintain positive working relationshipsEffectively communicate business critical information including complex contract terms, in a clear and concise manner, to both internal stakeholders and external partnersContract ManagementEnsure contracts and relevant contract data are entered into Medica’s contract management toolRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related fieldMajor: Business, Marketing, Finance, or Pre-Law preferred5 years of work experience in IT Procurement beyond degreeSkills And AbilitiesHealthcare experience with familiarity with emerging trends in contracting and healthcareProven experience negotiating technology and IT-related agreements, including SaaS platforms, cloud infrastructure, IT hardware and services, and staffing or consulting firmsStrong understanding of technology contract structures including SLAs, licensing and subscription models, consumption based pricing, rate cards, statements of work (SOWs), and time and materials and fixed price engagementsDemonstrated ability to negotiate complex, high-value, and multi-faceted contracts involving legal, financial, operational, and risk considerationsExcellent negotiation, analytical, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to assess risk, identify alternatives, and drive value while balancing business needsHighly self‑motivated and organized, with the ability to operate independently and exercise sound judgment in a fast‑paced environmentAbility to manage multiple concurrent, complex tasks, meet deadlines, and operate at a high level under pressureAdvanced critical thinking and problem solving skills including the ability to proactively identify issues, develop creative solutions, and influence outcomesStrong enterprise mindset, with the ability to align contracting strategies to organizational objectives, stakeholder needs, and long‑term value creationThis position is an Office role, which requires an employee to work onsite, on average, 3 days per week. We are open to candidates located near one of the following office locations: Madison, WI or Minnetonka, MNThe full salary grade for this position is $88,800 - $152,300. While the full salary grade is provided, the typical hiring salary range for this role is expected to be between $88,800 - $133,245. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data.
