Emergency Medicine Physician

As an Emergency Medicine Doctor in the United States Air Force, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the health, safety, and readiness of Airmen and their families. You will cater to the acute medical needs and emergencies that arise within the military base, ensuring rapid, focused, and efficient care. Your practice will extend from traditional emergency room settings to potential deployment situations where field medicine is practiced. Key Responsibilities:Provide immediate evaluation and management of emergency patients.Deliver comprehensive emergent medical care including diagnostics and emergency interventions.Coordinate patient care with a multidisciplinary team and ensures continuity of care.Play an instrumental role in emergency preparedness, planning, and practice drills.Manage medical, surgical, and trauma emergencies and provide guidance to the healthcare team.Participate in and/or lead medical research and studies.Ensure all medical practices, policies, and procedures comply with military standards.Engage in continuous professional development and maintain an active understanding of the field s advancements.Potentially deploy and provide emergency medical care in various locations and conditions. Qualification & Skills:Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited institution.Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine.Valid and unrestricted medical license.Ability to obtain a military security clearance.Prior military experience or familiarity with military health systems is desirable, though not mandatory.Strong diagnostic, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a capacity to operate in stressful conditions.
