Eventually this could lead to some international travel.Contract to hirePosition OverviewThe Tracked Vehicle Mechanic provides field-level maintenance and repair support on tracked combat vehicles, including recovery platforms. This role supports military personnel by performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring equipment readiness in accordance with applicable technical manuals and standards.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform field-level maintenance and repairs on tracked combat vehicles (e.g., recovery platforms)Support scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities alongside military personnelTroubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using technical manuals and diagnostic proceduresInterpret and apply technical data, schematics, and wiring diagramsProvide technical recommendations and solutions in accordance with applicable standards and documentationOperate as part of a Maintenance Assistance Team (MAT) under senior technical supervisionMentor and support other mechanics as neededMaintain accurate documentation and input data into computer-based systems as requiredFollow all safety, quality, and operational procedures to maintain a safe working environmentOrganize and prioritize tasks to meet mission and operational requirementsRequired SkillsStrong experience with field-level maintenance of tracked combat or heavy military vehiclesAbility to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagramsProficiency with troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systemsAbility to use computer systems for data entry, reporting, and documentationStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to recommend effective solutionsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong communication and interpersonal skillsPreferred SkillsExperience performing maintenance on recovery vehicles or similar tracked platformsFormal military maintenance training or recovery school certificationRequired Experience48+ years of experience performing maintenance on tracked military vehicles or similar heavy equipmentExperience supporting field operations and working in austere environmentsAbility to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance and a Common Access Card (CAC)If prior military service, must have an honorable dischargeEducationHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredPreferred EducationAssociate's degree in a related fieldPrior military experience is a plusWork EnvironmentField-based role supporting military operationsWork performed in outdoor and operational environments under varying conditionsMust adhere to all safety and compliance requirementsEEO StatementEOE (including Disability/Veterans)
