Sr. Systems Engineer
Overview
In this role you will lead and mature end-to-end systems engineering for mission-critical geospatial intelligence capabilities. You’ll collaborate with software, cybersecurity, and government partners to translate mission needs into scalable, secure solutions within an Agile/DevSecOps context. You’ll influence architecture, interface definitions, and verification activities across the full lifecycle, delivering reliable performance for national security missions. This position offers impact through cross-team leadership and hands-on technical execution in a fast-paced environment.
ResponsibilitiesLead systems engineering across the full system lifecycle (requirements, architecture, integration, testing, deployment, sustainment)Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and Agile teams to refine features and translate mission needs into technical solutionsDevelop and maintain system architectures, interface definitions, CONOPS, and technical documentationPerform systems decomposition, functional analysis, allocation, and traceabilitySupport backlog refinement, sprint planning, and technical roadmap developmentLead system performance assessments, troubleshoot across applications, infrastructure, networks, and data flows, and mitigates risksCoordinate integration across multiple development teams and external partnersSupport verification and validation activities and ensure requirements are tested and documentedParticipate in design reviews, architecture reviews, technical interchange meetings, and customer briefingsSupport DevSecOps initiatives and CI/CD processesEnsure compliance with customer and Intelligence Community standards and security requirements
Key requirementsUS citizenship required per contractBachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 8–12 years of relevant experience or Master’s with 6–10 years of relevant experience8+ years of professional systems engineering experienceExperience supporting mission systems or GEOINT programsExperience with geospatial intelligence storage, discovery, dissemination, exploitation systems/segments/tools, sensor programs, data types/formats, and interfacesStrong understanding of systems engineering principles and SDLCExperience with Agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban)Experience with requirements management tools (Jira, Confluence)Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GovCloud)Experience with system integration, interface management, and enterprise architectureFamiliarity with DevSecOps pipelines and CI/CD toolsAbility to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environmentcollaborationcross-functional teamworkproblem solvinggeospatial intelligence (GEOINT) tools and formatsDevSecOpsCI/CD
