Title: Funeral Director/EmbalmerLocation: Wilmington DE and Dover DE Duration: FulltimeProvide pre-need and at-need funeral arrangement services.Educate families on advance planning, including wills, estate planning, and insurance resources.Conduct arrangement conferences to determine service details and family preferences.Collect demographic information required for state permits and authorizations.General information sheetsRelease authorizationsFTC disclosuresService contracts and payment termsObituary and website authorizationsNext-of-kin affidavitsOversee scheduling and case management systems.Collaborate with office coordinators to ensure timely task completion.Assist families with death benefit claims.Provide grief counselling and estate management resourcesValid Funeral Director license as required by state regulations.Strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.Ability to manage multiple cases with accuracy and compassion.Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations.Coordinate and perform timely removals of the deceased.Verify proper identification and tagging at all stages.Ensure all required documentation and authorizations are obtained prior to preparation.Track preparation milestones (authorization, clothing, casket, photos, viewing date).Dress, casket, and cosmetically prepare the deceased per family instructions.Transfer the deceased to service locations at least 24 hours prior to viewing.Ensure consistent ID verification throughout the preparation process.Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of preparation rooms and equipment.Monitor preparation room inventory and request supplies as needed.Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE, lifts, and protective equipment.Valid Embalmer/Mortician license as required by state regulations.Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases.Knowledge of safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance standards.Commitment to dignity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations.
