Driver - CDL Required
Education
1. Preferred: High School or Equivalent
Licensing / Registration / Certification
1. Must be able to pass a physical examination by a company-authorized medical
professional.
2. Must be able to always do job safely, completely, and well.
3. Must have an up-to-date valid driver’s license, class A or B and a safe driving record upon
applying.
4. Must be able to provide a valid US DOT Medical Examiners Certificate upon applying.
5. Must always maintain a valid US DOT Medical Examiners Certification while employed.
6. Must always maintain a valid driver’s license while employed.
Experience, Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
1. Experience required.
2. Must be able to read and understand written instructions, in the English language.
3. Must be able to comprehend and follow verbal instructions, in the English language.
4. Must have average communication skills.
5. Must be able to complete the required paperwork.
6. Must take and pass USDOT drug and alcohol screenings.
7. Must meet the minimum required regulatory standards of US DOT Commercial Driver with a
class A or B license.
8. Must pass a mandatory background screening process as per customer and corporation
policies and procedures.
9. Must meet the minimum policy requirements for a driver of a company owned vehicle.
10. Must be able to wear a respirator and other required personal protective equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. The duties and responsibilities of the Driver include, but are not limited to:
a. Operate and maintain company tools and equipment.
b. Abide by all the company’s policies and procedures.
c. Ensure that all company requirements relating to safety, health and environment are
strictly adhered to and enforced.
d. Must maintain a positive working relationship with other employees and with
management.
e. Must complete all necessary paperwork accurately and in a timely manner as required.
f. Must perform assigned tasks safely and completely to meet company and client goals.
g. Must assist the Supervisor(s) or designee as needed.
h. Seeks guidance and direction as necessary from management on all serious issues.
i. Must have a working knowledge of GW tools and equipment.
j. Demonstrates good judgment in identifying and solving potential problems.
k. Must maintain the company’s goodwill for future business.
l. Must demonstrate safe and appropriate operating skills associated with a roll-off type of commercial vehicle during assigned workdays.
m. Must conduct USDOT pre and post trip vehicle inspections as per USDOT regulations.
n. Must maintain vehicle in a clean and respected manner as per regulations and policies.
o. Must adhere to assigned routes and scheduling without deviations.
p. Must safely load, secure, and unload heavy bins using trucks specialized equipment.
q. Must always wear minimum PPE on all locations assigned.
r. Must understand the use of GPS navigation, hydraulic controls, and sometimes
electronic logging.
s. Must report all incidents, accidents, near misses and/or unwarranted harassment immediately to Supervisor(s), Safety Director, Human Resources Manager.
