Principle Production EngineerThe Organization DNS Infrastructure team is responsible for the core Infrastructure and shared services required to support all Organization services globally. We design and build scalable, high-performance networks, provide long-term storage strategy and automation, manage global name resolution and routing and, provide capacity and performance consultation for other Organization teams.About the RoleOrganization's DNS Infrastructure team is looking for a Principle Production Engineer, sysadmin, system engineer, or DevOps type of person with experience in DNS, networking, OS, and coding. They'll be part of a team responsible for design, implementation, and operations of the DNS systems to deliver at-scale solutions. They will need to identify opportunities for automation and technology improvements and develop solutions in order to keep up with the changing needs of the company and the technology used. They will also be expected to deep dive into problems to solve them and research new technologies to evaluate or implement them.ResponsibilitiesEnvironment: RHEL, Bind, PDNS, Ansible.Coding: Perl, Python, C++, golang, etc.Troubleshooting: Understanding of fundamental network and service protocols and how to diagnose them.Development: Team members are expected to drive product improvement.Attitude: Friendly, enjoys working with others and will keep up with and learn new technology.Minimum QualificationsBS degree or equivalent industry experience. Typical candidates have a BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or 5 years of equivalent experience.Candidates must be comfortable coding and be willing to learn or code in a variety of languages. Perl, Python, golang, PHP, and C++. (Not expecting someone to be an expert in all of them. :) )Candidates must understand basic networking principles and can explain how and why packets flow the way they do.Candidates must have a base understanding of RHEL and how to manage and troubleshoot such systems.
