SummaryThe Georgia Pre-K Lead Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing a high-quality early childhood education program in alignment with Bright from the Start (DECAL) standards. This role involves creating a structured, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional growth of four-year-old children.The Lead Teacher develops and delivers lesson plans, manages daily classroom operations, and assesses student progress. They also ensure compliance with all Georgia Pre-K regulations, maintain accurate documentation, and foster a positive classroom culture. Working collaboratively with the Assistant Teacher and communicating effectively with families and staff are essential components of this role.DutiesKey Responsibilities: Georgia Pre-K Lead TeacherPlan and implement a high-quality instructional program aligned with Bright from the Start (DECAL) Georgia Pre-K standardsManage daily classroom operations and supervise a group of children in a safe, structured, and engaging environmentEstablish and maintain a healthy, nurturing classroom that supports children’s learning and developmentImplement approved lesson plans and daily schedules in alignment with program curriculum and guidelinesConduct ongoing observations and assessments of each child’s developmental progress using approved tools (e.g., Work Sampling System)Support children’s social and emotional development through positive guidance and developmentally appropriate practicesMaintain a well-organized, attractive classroom environment that encourages exploration, independence, and creativityEnsure compliance with all local, state, and program regulations related to health, safety, and early childhood educationMaintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including attendance, assessments, and required reportingCommunicate effectively with families regarding student progress, classroom activities, and program expectationsWork collaboratively with the Assistant Teacher to support classroom instruction and daily routinesProvide clear expectations for behavior and use positive reinforcement to guide children’s actionsMaintain cleanliness and organization of the classroom, shared spaces, and playground areasParticipate in required staff meetings, professional development, and school functionsMaintain professionalism in appearance, conduct, and adherence to the Chroma Early Learning Academy Employee HandbookDemonstrate knowledge of early childhood development, including the social, emotional, and creative needs of young childrenRequirementsBachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, or an approved equivalent that meets Bright from the Start (DECAL) requirementsMust meet all state and program requirements, including background check and credential verificationValid or eligible for a Georgia Pre-K Lead Teacher credential as defined by DECALDemonstrated knowledge of early childhood development and developmentally appropriate practices for four-year-old childrenExperience working in an early childhood or preschool setting preferredStrong classroom management, organizational, and lesson planning skillsAbility to conduct ongoing child assessments and maintain accurate documentation (e.g., Work Sampling System)Effective communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and staffKnowledge of and ability to maintain compliance with all local, state, and program regulations, including health and safety standardsAbility to work collaboratively as part of a teaching teamProfessional demeanor, reliability, and consistent attendanceBenefitsDental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offProfessional development assistanceTuition reimbursementVision insuranceDiscount for childcareSalary is determined by the GA Pre-K Salary ScheduleAbout UsOur Company is based out of Alpharetta, GA operating 18 Childcare Centers around Metro Atlanta
