Transport, process, and perform clerical duties as necessary fortestingpatient samples.Reports to: Lead Phlebotomist, Lab Manager and Laboratory Director.What You Will Do in This RoleYou will greet patients and instruct them in proper specimen collection methods.You will draw blood specimens from patients by using finger sticks, heelsticks,or venipunctures and collect other specimens asrequired.You will label specimens for identification purposes accurately and enter specimen data into the computer.You will prepare samples for microbiology, hematology, serology, blood bank, and urinalysis departmentsYou will assist with clerical duties by answering telephone calls.Licensure/certification/registration:HR diploma or GED requiredMinimum 6 months phlebotomy experiencerequiredor Certification through a clinical phlebotomy program may be considered in lieu of experienceAcute care hospital experience is strongly preferredSkilled phlebotomy technique; BLS within30 days of hireBenefitsMedical City Fort Worth, offers a total rewards package that supports the health, life, career and retirement of our colleagues.
