Large Non-Profit organization seeking Facilities Coordinator to start immediately! Project assignment.Title: Facilities Maintenance CoordinatorPay: $27.00Location: Manhattan or BronxShift: Monday through Friday hours TBD (AM Shift)Must have a driver license!Primary Purpose of Job:To perform basic maintenance of buildings, grounds, equipment and other small jobs that may be required to maintain professional office environments.Principle Responsibilities:• Performs minor repair of all buildings and equipment. (Major repairs are performed under the supervision of licensedcontractors, hired by Director of Operations.)o Minor painting, carpentry and masonry work (e.g., painting, minor locksmithing, pest exclusion, etc)o Minor HVAC work (e.g., adjusting and replacing thermostats; replacing filters, etc)o Minor electrical maintenance (e.g., replacement of ceiling and wall fixtures, wall switches and outlets, bulbsand tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.)o Minor plumbing maintenance (e.g., repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, replacing drainhoses on washers and similar devices, etc.)o Reconfiguration of office space (e.g., movement of furniture, re-configuration of modular cubicles, filecabinets, etc.)o Maintains fire safety systems, including fire extinguishers, smoke detectors and ensures office safety.• Obtain estimates for supplies, repair parts; orders parts as needed.• Inspects buildings to detect malfunctions and needed repairs, making notes and recommendations using a preestablishedcheck sheet.• Assists in maintaining clean, tidy and professional workspaces.• Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required.• Performs outside custodial duties such as snow removal as required.• Assist with training, including transporting training materials and setting up training furniture and supplies.Qualifications:• Education, Training, and Experience: Any combination of education, training, and experience which demonstratesability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described including related work experience in one or more of thebuilding trades.• Knowledge of: Methods used in maintenance including basic knowledge of the following trades: carpentry, plumbing,painting, masonry, grounds keeping, appliance repair, and electrical wiring; standard practices and tools used in themaintenance and repair of building facilities; safety practices and procedures related to the building trades; basic mathskills.• Skill and Ability to: Effectively use a variety of hand and power tools; read blueprints; review and identify projectsneeded to be serviced by outside contractors; follow oral and/or written instructions; communicate effectively in bothoral and written form; maintain work logs; establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships withthose contacted in the course of work assignments.• Superior ability in assessing and fulfilling staff needs.• Excel, Word, Outlook experience.
