Job Description
We are hiring a Casting Process Engineer to join our team! This position plans, directs and coordinates manufacturing processes in a machining environment. Develops, evaluates and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, material and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, manufacturing methods and quality control standards.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities Include
Improving the casting scrap rates, mold density, productivity rates, reducing MRO spend related to the casting process.
Develop mold spray map strategies, optimizing energy costs related to the casting process, minimize product gating, and develop process parameter controls, to meet or exceed plant budgeted goals.
This role involves leading collaboration efforts with product design, casting tooling engineers within our facilities, and tooling engineering within the supply chain.
Competitively bids casting tools, mold pre-heat burners, and trim dies. S
Six sigma problem-solving tools should be used to document the process metrics and quantitatively evaluate ongoing continuous improvement efforts.
This role will have a strong voice in enhancing process controls within the logic of the casting machine. Requisition materials to support ongoing cast and trim tooling
Requisition materials to support ongoing cast and trim tooling maintenance or improvements activities is an expectation
Establish items to be backed up in crib stores for MRO availability for cast and trim related tooling.
Written and verbal communication skills are key in mentoring and coaching molders, set-up technicians, and process technicians.
Complies with the following OSHA Safety Standards: Hazard Communication; Bloodborne Pathogens; Lockout; Permit Required Confined Space; Hot Work Permit; Powered Industrial Trucks; P.P.E. and Ergonomics.
When necessary, participate in classes and training seminars to learn new technologies and techniques deemed helpful to performance on the job.
Requirements
Bachelors degree of Manufacturing Engineering is required
PC applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Minitab, Database)Microsoft Project
AutoCAD or other drawing software
Dimensional tolerancing, GD&T
Lean Manufacturing / Enterprise exposure
Six Sigma Training (Black Belt or Green Belt certification preferred)
General business exposure
Foundry experience
Employees are expected to work onsite to attend in person meetings and collaborate as necessary

Pay: $63,663.14 - $120,000.00 per year
