We do this through increasing access to up-to-date financial information, reducing inefficiencies and freeing senior management to focus more on revenue generating activities.Spartan Shield is seeking a knowledgeable, driven individual to help with the continued success of the company and the clients we support in a Payroll Manager capacity. The Payroll Manager will work closely with the CFO and Controller to deliver superb payroll services. Successful candidates must have payroll, government contracting, and supervisory experience, as well as work well independently in a fast-paced environment.A quality work-life balance is a top priority; therefore, we provide a generous PTO policy and telecommuting options. Spartan Shield offers competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package.QUALIFICATIONSA Bachelor's or above in accounting or equivalent work experience10+ years of payroll and accounting experience7+ years of Government Contractor experienceSupervisory experience required Familiarity with GAAP requiredFamiliarity with FAR a plusAdvanced Excel skills and proficiency in other standard office applicationsStrong problem solving and reasoningAble to prioritize and meet multiple competing deadlinesExcellent written and oral communicationProficiency in at least one of the following software programs: ADP, Paychex, UKG, QB Payroll, Paylocity Proficiency in at least one of the following software programs a plus but not required: Deltek Costpoint, QuickBooks Online, Unanet, Microsoft Dynamics, QuickBooks Desktop, NetSuiteMust be eligible to work in the United States and not require sponsorship now or in the future RESPONSIBILITIESProvide superior customer service Oversee and manage the payroll functions for multiple clients Supervise and manage payroll clerks and/or specialists to ensure efficient processing of payroll Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws, as well as organizational policies, in payroll processing and review Coordinate and ensure the timely submission of payroll taxes and filings Review bank and other account reconciliationsReview journal entries and month-end closingsProvide support with financial audits related to payroll processes Oversee and prepare required reports as needed and as requested Benefits:Simple IRA and IRA matchingSTD/LTD/Life InsuranceHealth insuranceVision insuranceDental insuranceAnnual performance bonusAdditional bonus opportunitiesFlexible spending accountPaid time off EOE M/F/D/V/SO
