This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional who wants to grow their skills while contributing to impactful, community-focused work.In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting grant compliance, and contributing to essential financial operations that help drive our mission forward.What You’ll DoAccounting & Financial OperationsProcess and code vendor invoices in accordance with organizational and grant requirementsMaintain accounts payable records and ensure timely paymentsReconcile corporate credit card statements and monthly bank accountsInvestigate and resolve discrepanciesBudget & Financial SystemsSupport management of Service Provider (SP) and Individual Training Account (ITA) budgetsEnsure accurate coding across funding sources and cost centersMaintain budget documentation and internal trackingPayroll SupportProcess biweekly payroll based on approved HR dataEnsure accuracy of wages, deductions, and benefitsMaintain payroll records in compliance with internal controls and audit standardsReporting & Close ActivitiesGenerate routine financial reportsPrepare and post journal entries (accruals, allocations, adjustments)Support month-end, quarter-end, and annual audit processesAssist with documentation for internal and external reportingRequirementsWhat You Bring:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (Associate degree + relevant experience considered)1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experienceExperience in accounts payable or general ledger functionsFamiliarity with accounting systems (MIP Fund Accounting a plus)Exposure to payroll processing preferredNonprofit or grant-funded experience is a plusKey Skills For SuccessFoundational understanding of GAAP principlesStrong attention to detail and accuracyAnalytical mindset with problem-solving abilityAbility to manage multiple deadlines and prioritiesProficiency with financial systems and reporting toolsStrong collaboration and communication skillsHigh level of integrity and confidentialityWhy Join Capital Workforce PartnersHybrid work environmentOpportunity to grow within a collaborative finance teamMission-driven organization making a real community impactExposure to multi-funding accounting and nonprofit financeWork Environment & Physical RequirementsThis role involves a mix of sitting, standing, and computer-based work.
