As NASA’s largest engineering solutions provider working together with NASA at centers across the United States.We are seeking aSoftware Engineering and DevOps Section Managerunder the JETSII contract.The Software Engineering and DevOps Section Manager will:Report to the Spacecraft Software, Analysis and Services Group Manager. The position is responsible for the management of approximately 40 Employees.Maintain a positive, constructive, professional relationship with the NASA customers and other NASA support contractorsInterface with NASA Software Engineering Leads & Software Engineering oversight teamsDemonstrate excellent communication, collaboration, and coordination skillsPerform duties as a Section Manager:Ensure employees in functional areas follow established policies and proceduresEnsure employees generate finished work products under time and budgetary constraintsReview and approve timecards on a weekly basisReview and approve travel requestsConduct personnel performance reviewsResolve employee performance issuesEnsure proper team reporting on taskingPerform recruiting activitiesEnsure personnel are recognized for accomplishmentsCoordinate personnel allocations with Division Technical Managers and Task Order ManagersConduct routine customer reviews for employee tasking and performanceCommunicate resource management status to senior JETS managementWork in a fast-paced, Agile environment Promote a culture of caring and safetyDemonstrate a Servant/Leader approach to managementPromote a culture of continuous improvement and innovationPerform other duties as assigned or as requiredRequisition Qualifications: This position has been posted at multiple levels. Depending on the candidate's experience, requirements, and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised.Typically requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Engineering and may be expected to have a related master's degree and normally possess 10-15 years of related experience.Excellent communication, negotiation and coordination skills and strong customer service attitude with a history of effectively interacting with managers and customersProject management experienceExperience performing employee management duties including recruiting, developing, and terminating personnelExperience fostering a collaborative team environmentProficiency with team collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, Webex, Skype, SharePoint, JiraMust be able to organize and prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines and schedules with limited supervisionAbility to prepare written documents/presentations and to verbally present at various meetingsMust have strong time management and organizational skillsDemonstrated leadership ability to oversee a team of professionals working on multiple small and large projects concurrentlySelf-starter who can understand and absorb new concepts quicklyMust be local to the JSC area and willing to work offsite at Amentum building and onsite at Johnson Space Center on a regular basisRequisition Preferences:Experience leading a software development project across the full development life cycleExperience in Safety Critical Human-Rated Software DevelopmentMinimum of 5 years' experience with NASA/JSC10 years of experience with NASA/JSC flight software processesPrior experience with government contract task order managementPrior experience in developing schedules, budgets, and project plansWhy Join Our Team?
