About Boston Prep Boston Prep is a college-preparatory charter public district, made up of a single-site middle and high school. In 2025-2026, our community will include 700 students in grades 6-12, nearly 500 alumni, over 150 faculty members, and hundreds of families. The majority of our students and families reside in Dorchester, Roxbury, Mattapan, and Hyde Park. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of our students and build a brighter future for our community.As a Middle School Literacy InterventionistThe Literacy Interventionist plays a critical role in strengthening literacy outcomes through targeted interventions, progress monitoring, and collaboration with teachers and support staff within the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).Instruction, Intervention, and Student AssessmentDeliver Tier 2 literacy interventions through small group instruction aligned with evidence-based reading instruction and the science of reading.Provide targeted instruction in foundational literacy skills including:phonological awarenessphonics and decodingreading fluencyvocabulary developmentreading comprehensionDevelop structured intervention plans based on student assessment data.Maintain a consistent intervention schedule to ensure continuity of support.Monitor student progress regularly and adjust instruction based on data.Document intervention outcomes and communicate progress with teachers and MTSS teams.Support Tier 3 literacy interventions for students requiring intensive reading support.Administer or assist with literacy diagnostics and screening assessments.Collaborate with special education teachers to align interventions with IEP goals when appropriate.Provide individualized support to students who require additional academic assistance.MTSS Systems and Schoolwide Literacy SupportParticipate in MTSS meetings and data reviews to identify students in need of intervention.Support universal screening and literacy data analysis.Collaborate with teachers to strengthen literacy instruction across classrooms.Model literacy strategies and provide consultation to teachers supporting struggling readers.Contribute to schoolwide literacy initiatives and instructional improvement efforts.Classroom Culture, Student Relationships, and Family PartnershiBuild strong relationships with students to promote confidence and engagement in literacy learning.Communicate regularly with families about literacy progress and intervention goals.Provide families with strategies to support reading development at home.Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student growth.Model empathy and maintain high expectations for all learners.Participate in family conferences, school events, and community engagement activities.Collaboration and School CultureAttend and participate in weekly staff professional development, including One Team meetings, department meetings, and grade-level meetings.Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and school leadership.Contribute positively to Boston Prep's collaborative and mission-driven school culture.Support school systems and structures with fidelity.Participate in school-wide initiatives that strengthen student success.Compensation:The pay range for this role is: $74,406 - $125,759.For more information, please visit our website at www.bostonprep.org.One Mission.
