Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive music curriculum that aligns with educational standards.
- Teach music theory, instrumental techniques, vocal performance, and music appreciation to students of varying skill levels.
- Create engaging lesson plans that incorporate different musical genres and cultures.
- Assess student progress through regular evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, and respect for all students.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to maintain an optimal learning atmosphere.
- Collaborate with other educators to integrate music into broader educational programs.
- Organize and participate in school performances, recitals, and other musical events.
- Provide tutoring support for students needing additional assistance in music concepts or skills.
- Engage with parents and guardians regarding student progress and development.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of music theory, history, and various musical styles.
- Experience working with children in an educational setting; experience with adult education is a plus.
- Proficiency in one or more musical instruments or vocal performance.
- Ability to develop curriculum tailored to diverse learning needs, including special education requirements.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey musical concepts to students of all ages.
- Classroom management skills to create a productive learning environment.
- Experience in behavior management strategies to support student engagement.
- Familiarity with tutoring methods that enhance individual student learning experiences.
- Creativity in integrating other disciplines such as theater or culinary arts into the music curriculum.

Pay: $49,763.69 - $59,930.46 per year
