This position will support the maintenance and operations departments by coordinating routine preventative maintenance, diagnosing faulty components, and maintaining accurate and complete records per work instructions. The maintenance technician contributes to HGCs goals and success by ensuring equipment and machinery operate safely and at peak efficiency. This results in minimal production delays to ensure our products are manufactured effectively and safely.Essential FunctionsDiagnose and repair mechanical and machine issuesDisassemble, repair, clean, and test machinery for proper operationAssist with installing and calibrating new equipmentConduct routine inspections, perform preventative maintenance, maintain accurate records, and analyze and resolve equipment failures and unexpected breakdownsRespond to alerts and perform corrective repairs per SOPsMaintain logs of downtime and manage spare parts inventoryTrain production staff on basic maintenance proceduresReplace faulty mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic parts, and diagnose, repair, or replace defective electronic and electrical componentsTest and troubleshoot malfunctioning machinery with other techniciansPerform test runs, modifications, and repairs using schematics or manualsEnsure proper installation and operation of electrical systemsEvaluate jobs in process and on completion to ensure production needs meet safety and work quality expectationsPrepares reports documenting work performed Supports the development of internal SOPs as well manuals/guides for other departments on equipmentPerform other duties as assignedRequired Skills & AbilitiesProficient math skills, including calculations, fractions, decimals, etc.Root cause analysis and formal problem-solving abilityAbility to effectively manage both emotional and social intelligenceAbility to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously Strong interpersonal and customer service skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent time management skills and ability to efficiently manage priorities and tasks based on importance Excellent organizational skills and attention to detailAdaptability skills to effectively manage demands, frequent changes, delays, or unexpected eventsAbility to work self-sufficiently to ensure accuracy and quality of tasks Ability to navigate and resolve internal or external situations effectively and resourcefullyAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced environmentAbility to effectively manage both emotional and social intelligenceAbility to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, co-workers, and HGC Industries stakeholdersQualificationsVocational degree, equivalent education, and/or experience in electrical/mechanical fieldsKnowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations relevant to plant operations is requiredSkilled in facility systems, equipment operations, and system checksProficient in reading blueprints, using hand tools, power tools, test meters, and diagnostic equipmentKnowledgeable in electrical systems, mechanically inclined, and strong problem-solving abilitiesExperience with robotic controllers and programming automated machinery is preferredA minimum of 2 years of manufacturing maintenance Physical DemandsStanding for extended periods- 5-10 hours a dayWalking for extended periods- 1-5 hours a dayFrequently stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawlingClimbing on ladders, scaffolding, and/or stairs- when neededMay work with or near dry ice, CO2 gas, and/or siliconeProtective clothing/equipment may be required depending on the job taskWork may be performed in areas of extreme heat Travel RequirementsOccasional (less than 5%) travel to local vendors and suppliersEnvironmental ConditionsManufacturing plant and office employees can/will be exposed to noise, dirt, dust, fumes, odors, chemicals, and other airborne particles.HGC Industries provides equal employment opportunities to all qualified employees and applicants.
