About the Role
Net56 is seeking a motivated and skilled On-Site Technician to join our Technology Department. The ideal candidate will hold CompTIA A+, Network+, or CCNA equivalent experience and have hands-on experience supporting and troubleshooting networking systems. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that our client’s technology infrastructure operates reliably and securely to support students, teachers, and staff.
What You’ll Do
Provide on-site technical support for staff, students, and administrators across multiple school sites.
Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and classroom technology.
Provide support for NOC engineers with patch panels, and cabling.
Assist in the troubleshooting of system, network and internet incidents with enterprise network skills.
Monitor and resolve connectivity issues for wired and wireless networks.
Perform preventive maintenance on IT and networking equipment, ensuring systems meet district standards.
Document issues, solutions, and network configurations in district ticketing/helpdesk systems.
Collaborate with the Technology Department on projects such as network upgrades, MDF/IDF cleanup, and infrastructure improvements.
Provide training and technical guidance to end users on district-approved technology systems.
What We’re Looking For
CompTIA A+ and Network+ certifications.
Minimum of 2–3 years of IT support experience, including hands-on networking.
Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing/switching, and WiFi concepts.
Experience with Microsoft Windows, macOS, and Google environments.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a school setting.
First responder, 24X7, on-call rotation
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Preferred Certifications
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent networking experience.
Prior experience supporting technology in a K-12 school district.
Knowledge of classroom instructional technologies (interactive displays, projectors, student devices).
Familiarity with enterprise-level network monitoring, ticketing systems, and cybersecurity practices.
Experience with VoIP phone provision for Cisco Call Manager.
Physical & Work Requirements
Ability to lift 40 pounds (IT equipment, servers, monitors).
Ability to climb ladders and work in network closets (MDF/IDF).
Travel between schools within the district as required.
