Construction Controller

This role is ideal for an agile, tech-savvy accounting professional with strong general contractor accounting experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys partnering with executive leadership to drive operational and financial excellence.ResponsibilitiesOversee financial operations across development and construction accounting functionsProduce accurate monthly financial statements, project forecasts, and cash flow projectionsManage and collaborate with outsourced accounting teams and resourcesHandle construction accounting functions including job costing, WIP schedules, progress billing, and percentage-of-completion revenue recognitionSupport month-end and year-end close activities and ensure accurate reportingUtilize construction ERP systems and modern accounting software to streamline processes and improve efficiencyWork closely with executive leadership to support strategic planning and internal controlsMaintain and improve accounting processes, operational workflows, and reporting accuracyEnsure compliance with accounting standards and company financial policiesPerform other duties as assignedRequired ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience requiredDirect experience working for a General Contractor with annual revenue volume between $50M–$200M requiredStrong understanding of construction accounting practices including job costing and WIP reportingExperience with progress billing and percentage-of-completion revenue recognitionHighly proficient with construction accounting software such as Sage, Viewpoint, or ProcoreAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills requiredStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to adapt quickly to new technologies and work in a fast-paced environmentPreferred ExperienceExperience supporting executive finance leadership such as a VP of Finance or CFOExperience managing outsourced accounting teams or shared resourcesExperience within commercial or industrial construction environmentsStrong understanding of financial forecasting and cash flow managementBenefitsHealth insuranceDental insuranceVision insuranceLife insuranceDisability insurancePaid Time Off401(K) with 4% company matchSalary: $100K-$130KAsk for: BrennaJob Id: 26273Ajulia Executive Search is a New Jersey based Executive Search Firm specializing in retained searches in multiple sectors, including Manufacturing, Finance, IT, Legal, and Pharmaceutical.
