Consultant Dermatologist – Outpatient & Minor Ops FocusLocation: SussexContract Duration: Until 31st October 2025Schedule: Monday to Friday | 09:00 – 17:30Position Type: Locum ConsultantAbout The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Consultant Dermatologist for a locum assignment in Sussex. This role involves providing high-quality outpatient care and performing minor surgical procedures within a busy and supportive dermatology service.The successful candidate will manage a diverse caseload of dermatological conditions, contribute to specialist clinics, and take an active role in day-case theatre sessions. This is a fantastic opportunity for a consultant looking to make a meaningful impact within a well-organised NHS trust in the South East.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver clinical care to dermatology patients in an outpatient settingConduct comprehensive new patient assessments and manage follow-up reviewsDiagnose and treat a wide range of skin conditionsParticipate in specialist clinics, including:Skin CancerInflammatory DermatosesOther dermatological sub-specialties as requiredCarry out minor surgical procedures such as:Lesion and mole excisionsSkin biopsiesCryotherapy and other minor interventionsWork closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure efficient patient careMaintain accurate, detailed medical records and participate in audit and governance activitiesEssential RequirementsFull GMC registration with a licence to practiseMust be on the GMC Specialist Register for DermatologyDemonstrable experience in general dermatology and minor skin surgeryAbility to independently manage outpatient clinics and minor ops listsExcellent interpersonal, diagnostic, and team-working skillsAvailability for the full contract durationDesirablePrevious NHS experience in a Consultant roleExperience in managing 2-week-wait skin cancer referralsInterest in teaching, training, or service improvement
