Location: 1225 W 25th ST, STE 420,Norfolk VA 23508 Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time Job Summary Balance HomeCare Services Inc. is seeking a reliable and compassionate Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Driver to safely transport clients to and from medical appointments, therapy sessions, and other approved destinations. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, dependable, and committed to providing high-quality, respectful transportation services to seniors and individuals with special needs. Key Responsibilities Safely transport clients to medical appointments, dialysis, therapy, and other approved locations Assist clients with entering and exiting the vehicle, including wheelchair securement when needed Maintain punctual pickup and drop-off schedules Communicate professionally with clients, caregivers, dispatch, and medical facilities Ensure vehicle cleanliness, safety, and daily inspections Complete trip documentation, logs, and required reports accurately Follow HIPAA regulations and protect client confidentiality Adhere to company policies, Medicaid/NEMT broker guidelines, and traffic laws Report vehicle issues, incidents, or client concerns promptly Job Requirements Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record Minimum age: 21 years (or per state requirement) High school diploma or GED (preferred) Ability to pass: Background check Drug screening DMV/MVR check MUST be CPR certified Physically able to assist clients and handle mobility equipment Basic communication and customer service skills Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor Preferred Qualifications Previous NEMT, home care, or healthcare transportation experience CPR / First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Experience assisting wheelchair or mobility-impaired clients Knowledge of local roads and medical facilities Familiarity with Medicaid transportation guidelines Work Environment & Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods Ability to lift and assist up to [insert weight limit, e.g., 50 lbs] Frequent entering/exiting of vehicle Exposure to varying weather conditions Why Join Balance HomeCare Services Inc.?
