The CEO will be responsible for overseeing all programming, including class programs for leaders, and will serve as the primary fundraiser, working with a wide network of sponsors, funders, and alumni. This role requires a deep connection to and understanding of the state, as well as the ability to engage a diverse range of constituents. The successful candidate will be adept at developing and executing fundraising campaigns, guiding the Board in strategic decisions, and leading a small, high-performing team. Strong business, budget management, and financial skills are essential, as is the ability to maintain the non-political, non-partisan nature of the organization while fostering informed, courageous dialogue. Candidates for the CEO position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree, with a graduate degree or equivalent experience being valued. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in senior leadership, particularly in organizations with large volunteer memberships and Boards. They must be adept at building and managing a diversified funding pipeline, securing major gifts, and corporate sponsorships, and be skilled in identifying new revenue opportunities. The role also requires the ability to lead through influence, navigate complexity, and operate effectively in a highly visible, relationship-driven environment. The CEO will be expected to champion the values, mission, and vision of the organization, and to prepare clear and timely communication for the Board and the membership.
