This role focuses on general criminal defense, representing clients in a wide range of misdemeanor and felony matters at the trial level.The ideal candidate will have hands-on courtroom experience, strong client management skills, and the ability to handle cases from intake through resolution. This is a full-time position, with a strong preference for working on-site five days per week.Key ResponsibilitiesRepresent clients in general criminal defense matters, including misdemeanors and feloniesHandle cases from initial appearance through trial, plea, or resolutionConduct court appearances in York County and surrounding jurisdictionsDraft and argue motions, including suppression, discovery, and dismissal motionsNegotiate with prosecutors and advocate for favorable case outcomesCommunicate regularly with clients regarding case strategy and developmentsCollaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to manage an active caseloadQualificationsMinimum of 3 years of criminal defense experienceExperience handling general criminal defense cases at the trial levelActive and good standing license to practice law in South CarolinaStrong courtroom presence and litigation skillsExcellent written and verbal communication abilitiesAbility to manage deadlines and maintain a high-volume caseloadCommitment to client advocacy and ethical practiceWork Environment & What We OfferEstablished criminal defense infrastructure and administrative supportCollaborative, team-oriented work environmentCompetitive compensation commensurate with experienceLong-term growth opportunities within a well-established and expanding firm
