Part-Time Transportation Aide and PSR Aide

The part-time CPRC Psychosocial Rehabilitation Aide/Transportation Aide is responsible for providing ongoing assistance to clients in learning/developing social, daily living and problem skills, and to act as a liaison for the client in the community as needed, as well as performing driver program assistance and van maintenance for the Psychosocial Rehabilitation component of the Community Psychiatric Rehabilitation Center. DUTIES 1. Teach daily living skills through role modeling, direct supervision and prepared group programs. 2. Supervise clients in PSR activities, i.e. cooking, groups, etc. 3. Encourage client to increase involvement in normal community living and record client progress. 4. Manage and facilitate activities and support groups as needed. 5. Attend program and administrative meetings and staffings on assigned clients and relating to PSR. 6. Observe clients for signs of decompensation or changes in identified needs and report to supervisor. 7. Monitor client overall progress and report daily to supervisor. 8. Be cross-trained to dictate or type documentation or related paperwork contemporaneously with service provision (within five (5) business days) and in accordance with agency and certification standards. (As needed) 9. Drive agency vans for PSR activities, picking up and transporting clients as assigned by CPRC Team Leader. 10. Provide transportation for CPRC clients to medical appointments when PSR schedule permits. 11. Maintain current certification in CPR and First Aid training. 12. Provide maintenance services for agency vehicles. 13. Provide maintenance services and assistance to agency staff at facilities when PSR duties permit. 14. Obtain training and education regarding serious mental illness, specific diagnoses, and individual client issues and strengths. 15. Deliver mail among NCMMHC offices. 16. Maintain current certification in CPR and First Aid. 17. Maintain client confidentiality. 18. Perform related work as requested to carry out the purposes, goals and objectives of the agency. C. QUALIFICATIONS High school graduate/GED certificate. Class “E” chauffeur's license, automobile and required liability insurance. Willingness to work flexible hours during the week, and on the weekend as needed. Special interest and skills working with chronic mentally ill clients. Integrity, honesty, openness, ability to cooperate, high degree of initiative and self-confidence. Ability to relate to a variety of professionals and the general public. Capacity to be empathetic and objective. SUPERVISION Directly responsible to the Psychosocial Rehabilitation Team Leader (for PSR duties) and the Transportation Coordinator (for transportation duties).
