Specific eligibility and coverage details will be provided during the hiring process**Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Fire Alarm & Sprinkler Inspector – Level II to perform inspections, basic service, and routine troubleshooting of fire alarm and sprinkler systems. This role supports compliance with NFPA codes, state and local regulations, and internal standards. The Level II Inspector works under the guidance of senior inspectors and supervisors and may assist in training junior team members.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesPerform inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm and sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA 72, NFPA 25, and all applicable local, state, and federal codesTroubleshoot system issues and complete minor repairs on fire alarm and sprinkler equipmentAssist with system programming and commissioning under the direction of senior techniciansPrepare clear, accurate documentation of inspection results, identified deficiencies, and corrective actions takenCommunicate findings, system status, and recommended repairs to customers in a professional, courteous mannerSupport senior inspectors and project teams on complex installations, retrofits, and service callsMaintain assigned tools, test equipment, and parts inventory in company vehicle in clean, organized, and working conditionSafely perform work at elevated heights, on ladders and aerial lifts, and within confined spaces in compliance with OSHA and Cal/OSHA standardsAdhere to all company safety policies and jobsite requirements while representing the company professionally at customer locationsRequired Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED equivalent3-4 years of hands-on experience inspecting, testing, or servicing fire alarm and/or fire sprinkler systemsWorking knowledge of NFPA 72 and NFPA 25 inspection procedures and standard troubleshooting practicesAbility to read, interpret, and work from technical drawings, riser diagrams, and equipment specificationsProficient with mobile devices, inspection software, and standard computer applications (Microsoft Office, web-based reporting tools, mobile apps)Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers, building managers, and team membersDemonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a field service environmentAbility to meet company driving eligibility requirements, including holding a valid driver’s license and maintaining an acceptable motor vehicle record.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work at heights, on lifts, and in confined spacesPreferred QualificationsNICET Level I or II certification in Fire Alarm Systems or Inspection and Testing of Water-Based SystemsExperience with additional low-voltage systems (security, access control, CCTV, or nurse call)Bilingual English/SpanishOSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certificationThis pay range reflects the compensation rate Fortis Fire & Safety reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors such as experience and skillset. This role is also eligible for benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401k match, pet insurance, short term/long term disability, etc...Compensation Rate: $28 USD - $30 USDThis role may require extended periods of sitting or standing, movement around the office or job site, and operation of standard equipment. Physical activities can include reaching, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting up to 75 lbs. Field positions may involve heavy lifting, working in varying climates (including outdoor conditions), construction or low-voltage environments, and exposure to dust, noise, or confined spaces.
