Role Description:Tittle: Center Apheresis Medical Specialist (Registered nurse)Role Type: contractLocation: Indianapolis, IN (onsite)Overview:Under the supervision of the Center Medical Director and Management, the specialist ensures donor eligibility, product integrity, and donor safety by following FDA regulations and SOP guidelines. Responsible for performing and overseeing leukapheresis procedures, monitoring donors, and managing any adverse reactions.Key Responsibilities• Screen and select eligible donors through physical exams and medical history review.• Prepare and educate donors on procedures, risks, and obtain consent.• Perform and monitor plasmapheresis and leukapheresis procedures.• Respond to and manage donor reactions or medical issues.• Operate and maintain apheresis equipment and ensure accurate collection.• Conduct pre-donation testing and review results for eligibility.• Maintain donor records, confidentiality, and compliance with SOPs and regulations.• Ensure cleanliness, safety, and proper stocking of equipment and supplies.• Train staff on leukapheresis procedures.• Support quality improvement, scheduling, and logistics (packing/shipping).Qualifications• BSN with active RN license and CPR certification.• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience; apheresis or blood collection preferred.• Strong clinical assessment, venipuncture, and interpersonal skills.• Ability to follow strict protocols in a fast-paced, regulated environment.Work Environment & Physical Demands• Plasma center setting with exposure to biological materials and cold storage areas.• Requires standing/sitting for extended periods, manual dexterity, and lifting up to 50 lbs.• Must have adequate vision, hearing, and communication ability.Thanks& Regards,Prachi Gupta
