Business Development Manager – Computing Power Systems
Position Summary:Develop and nurture business opportunities for Methode’s custom-engineered power distribution solutions for the Power Solutions Group business with a key focus in the data center market. Maximize Methode revenue and profitability, leveraging our power engineering and design capabilities, as well as our global manufacturing footprint. Manage sales activities in the West Region including direct responsibility for Strategic/House accounts, as well as indirect sales channels, to maximize Methode’s market share.Position Responsibilities:Maintain and build strong customer relationships to ensure Methode is the preferred supplier for new programs and projectsUnderstand AI-driven changes in data center power architectures and position Methode as an innovation partner in meeting the new and more demanding requirements.Develop an understanding of where data center power products are specified and purchased for the companies investing in cloud computing infrastructure, including integrated AI service developers and neoclouds as well as more traditional hyperscalers, CSPs and their contract design/manufacturing partners.Strategically grow differentiated, profitable revenue development of new accounts and expansion in existing, assigned accounts via design wins.Identify customer opportunities and collaborate with Methode application engineering to ensure understanding, focus and effective presentation of Methode recommendations to address customer needsDevelop relationships within target account organizations to anticipate customer RFQs, and establish Methode’s technical credibility to participate in shape customer RFQ requirementsUnderstanding product value drivers to enable a focus on differentiating Methode's product roadmap to achieve best in class marginsTake a proactive role together with Program Management team, aligning customer throughout the process of launching of new products and programs, from accurate anticipation of engineering and product costing through to successful sourcing, testing, quality validation and volume productionLeverage the global matrix organization within Methode to ensure proactive identification and resolution of customer issuesCollaborate with PSG leaders, global quoting and manufacturing teams to continuously improve Methode’s ability to focus engineering design and quoting activities on the highest-return opportunitiesCommunicate and present to all levels of internal stakeholders and leadership on metrics, progress, issues, and planningManage awarded business to ensure tracking and updating of customer data including forecasting and pricing through internal business management system, and support account receivables invoicing and P.O. adjustmentsPerform other duties as assignedQualifications:Bachelor’s degree required, along with proven ability to grasp technical concepts and communicate effectively with power engineering professionals5 years of relevant business experience, preferably related to computing infrastructure products2 years of experience collaborating with Asia-based supply chain and engineering teams for product design and manufacturingFully developed account management sales skillsStrong negotiation and persuasion skillsAbility to effectively present and communicate information to diverse groups and at levels of organization internally and externallyMust be proficient in PowerPoint and ExcelThe base pay hiring rate expected for this position is: $165,000K-$205,700. This position is eligible to participate in an incentive plan.
