About the job:
Do you have a detail-oriented work ethic, superior operational skills, and thrive on completing important and time-sensitive tasks? Near North is looking for a Residential Post Closer to perform all processes that follow the closing of real estate transactions, verify that closed files are logged appropriately, and audit recording documents and files. We provide a collaborative, energetic, team environment. Our company is a growing title insurance operation with multi-state market presence and national outreach.
As the Residential Post Closer role, you will be an essential component of the closing process, handling all pertinent tasks that are necessary after transactions are closed and representing our team in a professional and cooperative manner. You will confirm that files and materials are prepared accurately and on time and that all required certifications are in place, help to resolve any audit or lender issues, update SoftPro with all applicable data, log and maintain the details of rejected recording packages, communicate aptly with closers and management, work on special projects, and much more.
What you bring to the table:
College degree is preferred
1-2 years of title/escrow experience is preferred but not required
Title insurance license may be required after hire, if required
Proficiency with MS Office software
Title production software (e.g. SoftPro) experience is a plus
Superior organization and accuracy
Interpersonal with strong written and verbal communication skills
You’ll be working on:
Reviewing signed documents to verify that notary seals and acknowledgements are on each recorded document
Confirming the names on the documents match the title commitment and all parties have signed correctly
Verifying Legal description is correct on all documents.
Ensuring the documents have been recorded in the proper sequence.
Contacting closers when files are missing required documentation
Checking the mark up to be sure all of the requirements are met after the recorded docs are received and a policy has been requested.
Ensuring all 1099 are in the files
Ensuring mark up commitments are in the file
Preparing final policy and notify closer the policy is complete so the Escrow Office/Closer can send it out to the Buyer/Lender
