Senior E-Discovery Consultant (Hayward)
OverviewOur client, a leader in E-Discovery services, is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior E-Discovery & Analytics Consultant to join their Client Services team. This individual will play a critical role in managing all phases of the electronic discovery lifecycle across complex, high stakes matters. The ideal candidate brings deep experience working with big law, corporations, a strong command of Relativity and its advanced analytics and AI tools. In this role you will demonstrate practical knowledge in configuring, deploying, and evaluating the tools in the Relativity ecosystem. Demonstrated track record of managing complex, multi-party litigation matters involving large data volumes is essential.ResponsibilitiesConsulting & Oversight of Client/Matters:Consult with clients and corporations regarding discovery obligations and review workflow on domestic and cross-border (APAC) matters.Oversee the full scope of e-discovery workflows, from preservation and collection through processing, review, and production. This includes developing and executing project plans, managing timelines and budgets, and ensuring that internal resources and vendors complete their projects in accordance with applicable legal standards, court rules, and client guidelines.Serve as a escalation point internal Project Management, Engineering and Forensics teams.Advise at meet-and-confer discussions on ESI issues, and ensure compliance with ESI protocols and protective orders.Project Management & Relativity:Collaborate with legal teams on best practices regarding ECA, document review workflows, privilege logging and production formats.Leverage TAR/CAL, Analytics and Relativity aiR to enhance document review efficiency. Evaluate the suitability of the various technologies on a matter-by-matter basis. Configure and monitor deployment, and provide reporting on performance and impact.Advise attorneys on best practices for defensible deployment of AI tools, assist in drafting related protocols for submission to courts, maintain a firm grasp of relevant validation statistics, and oversee quality control and validation of AI-assisted review results.Additional responsibilities include developing and maintaining project documentation, preparing status reports and metrics for stakeholders, conducting quality assurance checks on all data deliverables, and mentoring junior team members on e-discovery best practices and technology platforms.Provide other Relativity support to Project Management teams as needed.Business Development & Sales Support:Assist sales with marketing literature, pricing, cost estimates, consulting, demos, and meetings.Participate in industry related events & panels as a subject matter expert.Research and Development & Training:Stay up to date with technologies, regulations and privacy laws concerning e-discovery.Research, test, implement and train internal resources on new Relativity features as well as other applications as needed.QualificationsBachelor's degree required.Minimum of seven (7) years of increasing responsibility in e-discovery project management and consulting.Expert level proficiency in the Relativity platform.Relativity Certifications recommended.Significant experience designing, implementing, and managing Technology Assisted Review (TAR), TAR 2.0, CAL workflows and methodologies is essential, as well as the ability to articulate and defend TAR processes and statistically relevant validation measures—such as recall, precision, F1 score, elusion rate, richness/prevalence, confidence intervals, and margins of error—in the context of litigation.Experience with data privacy and cross-border discovery issues, including compliance with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), ITAR and similar regulations, is desirable.
