Backed by strong customer traction and a growing enterprise pipeline, we're building a performance-driven team focused on execution, revenue, and scale.We're establishing our engineering headquarters in Silicon Valley and are hiring this role remote to start, with the expectation of transitioning to in-person as we build out the office.The RoleWe're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help shape the future of how the world consumes content. At Lingopal, we believe everyone should be able to experience content from anywhere in a language they truly understand.You'll be working at the heart of our real-time translation pipeline — designing and building the systems that ingest live streams, split audio and video, synthesize translated audio in the listener's native language, and seamlessly reintegrate it back into the video stream with minimal latency. You'll have a unique opportunity to define technology that doesn't yet exist. We're looking for someone with a clear technical vision, the experience to articulate complex tradeoffs in a well-architected system, the skill to build it, and the wisdom to bring a team along with them.Our current pipeline is built in Rust, and familiarity with Rust or other systems languages such as C++ or Go is a plus. That said, we value engineers who can reason deeply about performance and concurrency regardless of the specific language — and who are excited to grow with the stack as it evolves.This is a high-ownership role. You'll work closely with engineering leadership and have meaningful influence over how we architect and scale our services. We believe in-person collaboration creates faster feedback loops and sharper execution — which is why this role will be based out of our Silicon Valley office. If you're ready for the defining challenge of your career, we'd love to hear from you.What You'll Work OnDesign and build real-time audio/video processing pipelinesImplement and optimize demuxing and muxing for live stream audio replacementIntegrate ASR, translation, and TTS services into a low-latency streaming pipelineBuild async, high-throughput backend servicesInstrument services with OpenTelemetry for tracing, metrics, and observabilityDesign autoscaling strategies using KEDA and Kubernetes for event-driven workloadsContribute to post-incident reviews and help drive reliability improvementsJob Requirements8+ years of software engineering experienceFamiliarity with Python, Rust, Go, C++, or similar languagesExperience building sub-second latency systems in productionExperience building and operating distributed systems in production on KubernetesExperience with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Sentry, or similarComfort working in a fast-moving environment where you own problems end to endStrong communication skills — you can explain complex tradeoffs clearly to both engineers and non-engineersNice to HaveFamiliarity with gRPC and Protocol BuffersExperience with real-time audio/video streaming protocols (SRT, RTMP, MPEG-TS, HLS, or similar)Experience with FFmpeg, GStreamer, or similar media processing frameworksFamiliarity with TTS/ASR pipeline integration (ElevenLabs, AWS Transcribe, OpenAI, etc.)Experience with KEDA or event-driven autoscaling on KubernetesPrior work at an early-stage startup or in a high-ownership engineering environmentWhat We OfferCompetitive salary aligned with Series A stage benchmarks.
