In this role Under the supervision of a Professional Electrical Engineer, you will perform project related work in the utilities industry designing and planning power distribution facilities.What you will do:Gather information from various record drawings, GIS maps, Google Earth and other sourcesInvestigate project needs and provide solutions to complete the assigned projectDetermine Right-of-Way requirements for project designConduct project site visits to take photos, verify utility locations, take field measurements, verify power pole equipmentCompare survey file provided, with photos and research data to determine if it is up to date and an accurate representation of existing conditionsUse available standards to create base files and necessary subsequent filesUse all available data from research to determine possible design conflictsAssist in designing underground electric projects using MicroStation softwareAssist in preparing typical support drawings using available standards and proceduresAddress review comments from senior staff, client and other reviewersPrepare schematic plans or sketches using available standards and proceduresCatalog final signed and sealed drawingsConduct peer to peer reviewsWho you are:You have good computer literacy and are not afraid to learn new programs and skills. You are a good communicator who not only has oral and written skills but are also an excellent listener with above average comprehension. Mathematics comes naturally to you and is used for problem-solving and analysis. You are a critical thinker who can apply knowledge to new assignments and uses critical thinking to bring everything together.
