Therapist - CMO FAST Program

The FAST Therapist is responsible for providing clinical services to children and families that have been referred to the FAST program. Facilitates needed services with individuals in the areas of psychological or emotional problems such as stress, substance abuse, or family situations and develops and implements a therapeutic treatment plan for the client(s). Makes initial contact with new referrals within one day of intake. Interviews family to obtain family history. Provide clinical treatment to family?s as a whole, individually, or as needed in each home assigned. Responsible for making 2-5 contacts per week with each family assigned to caseload and provide regular therapy sessions for children and their families. Responsible for completing initial assessment for every family and individual subject within 48 hours of initial visit. Responsible for providing information and recommendations during all staffing and Family Team Meetings. Ensures all treatment team members are educated and instructed on individual needs that are pertinent to clients stay. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the client?s needs based upon the age and functioning level of the client. Provides education to client and parent/guardian regarding special needs of the client according to the client?s abilities. Conducts clinically appropriate number of group therapy sessions each week for all clients. Conducts clinically appropriate number of family support group sessions. Models appropriate and professional behavior (i.e., dress, habits, personality, tact, etc.). Relates with clients, parents, peers and the general public in a respectful and professional manner in person and phone interaction. Performs other duties that may be assigned. Selects and utilizes assessment tools to measure current functioning and records results. Monitors child and family progress in the implementation of the individual treatment plan. Prepare and maintain all therapeutic records and reports on children and families seen in treatment. Plans and administers therapeutic treatment such as behavior modification and stress management therapy to assist clients in controlling disorders and other problems. Produces and maintains appropriate treatment plans. Refers client to supportive services to supplement treatment and counseling. Develop working relationships with local community providers pertaining to substance abuse, domestic violence and other clinical services. Follow all policies and procedures of the program to ensure the protection and safety of the children in the care of the program. Recognizes and reports signs and symptoms of abuse and neglect. Must be available for on-call and after hour work. Provide after care services to clients, as needed. May be called to testify in court. Progress notes contain clinically appropriate data submitted in a timely manner. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of client needs based on the age and functioning level of the client. Consistently includes the parent/guardian in client care. Requirements: Master's Degree required from an accredited university in the area of social work or counseling PLUS 1-2 years experience working with youth in a therapeutic setting. Must be eligible for license Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational skills Proficient in computer programs and software Salary: $43,000 - $53,000 annually depending upon experience and education.
