Master Specialist Truck Service Technician - HOLT Truck Centers

Job Summary: Diagnoses and repairs customer complaints of On-Highway Trucks, Trailers, and related equipment. The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices daily: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources; 3) Participate in ongoing self-development.Essential Functions:Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment malfunctions and failuresPerforms major engine repairs and related equipment repairsProvides high quality control/assurance inspections of completed tasksPrepares required documentation needed to complete repair ordersPerforms Failure Analysis of failed engine componentsMaintains appearance and operation of truck to ensure productivity and professional representationAccurately completes and files documentation necessary to justify billingResponsible for training and development of all new and existing team membersMaintains a P Factor of greater than 110%Maintains less than .25% rework for years total salesDesires to challenge self with an abundance mindset to achieve highest levels of performance and qualityWorks safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standardsRequires regular and punctual employee attendancePerforms other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:General knowledge of equipment and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenanceKnowledge and proficiency with current computer software, related hardware, and On-Highway Truck electronic systemsOperation and control skills of equipment or systemsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to operate a conventional forkliftAbility to operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and equipment used in mechanical repairs and jobsAbility to operate an On-Highway Truck on public roadsAbility to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objectsEducation and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent preferred15 or more years or work related experience requiredCDL - Class A or B requiredASE - Master Medium/Heavy Truck Certification requiredConventional forklift license requiredSupervisory Responsibilities:NoneTravel:Limited travel or overnight staysTravel to other stores that require help during times of heavy workloads may be expectedTravel to customer locations may be expectedValid driver's license and acceptable driving recordAdditional Requirements:Must own and maintain the necessary tools to efficiently perform the jobPhysical Requirements:Significant amount of time spent standingConstant movement and use of hands, this position requires good manual dexterityCommunication with customers and constant communication with co-workersRoutinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect workMust be able to move objects, and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigueBe able to maneuver safely and work underneath equipmentLifts and moves materials and equipment up to 50 lbs.Occasional kneeling, crouching, stooping, crawling, reaching, and balancingAscends/descends with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet and climbs up and down ladders and/or equipmentWork Environment:Regularly works indoors around moving mechanical partsMay be exposed to weather extremes when working outside in conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidityFrequently works in an enclosed vehicle or equipmentRequires wearing common protective or safety equipmentExposure to high noise levelsWorks in extremely bright or inadequate lightingExposure to small quantities of chemicals, dust, steam, high-pressure water, and high-speed rotating equipmentExposure to minor burns, cuts, bites, or stingsDisclaimer:Please note that the above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this classification.
