Director of Construction Operations – Special ProjectsLocation: Temecula, CA (with regular travel to nearby office locations) Salary: $120,000 – $160,000/year DOEAbout the RoleA growing commercial and industrial facilities services organization is seeking an experienced and growth-focused leader to oversee and expand its Special Projects & Trade Services division across California, with planned expansion throughout the Western U.S.This role is ideal for a strong operator with experience in commercial construction, facilities services, or project operations who can lead project execution, grow self-perform trade capabilities, and build high-performing teams and subcontractor networks.You will play a key role in scaling the business while supporting national and regional clients across maintenance, renovation, restoration, and project-based services.ResponsibilitiesLead commercial and industrial special projects, remodels, refreshes, and rollout programsBuild and expand internal self-perform trade capabilities including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, paint, flooring, concrete, demolition, and sheet metalDevelop and manage subcontractor and vendor relationships to support project delivery and profitabilityPrepare project budgets, estimates, and trade pricingRecruit, mentor, and lead project managers, supervisors, and skilled trades teamsSupport business growth through existing accounts and new client opportunitiesCollaborate with internal leadership teams and project stakeholdersEnsure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budgetQualificationsRequired10+ years of experience in commercial construction, industrial services, facilities services, or project operationsExperience managing special projects, tenant improvements, remodels, or rollout programsStrong understanding of multi-trade project executionExperience developing estimates and budgets for self-perform trade workProven leadership experience building teams and delivering profitable projectsPreferredExperience developing or managing self-perform trade divisionsEstablished subcontractor/vendor networkExperience working with national or regional commercial clientsBackground supporting developers, retail, industrial, or property management groupsIdeal CandidateStrong leadership and operational mindsetHigh ownership and accountabilityGrowth-oriented and business-mindedAble to build scalable teams and systemsStrong communication and relationship management skillsWhat’s OfferedOpportunity to build and lead a growing divisionLong-term leadership growth potentialExpansion opportunities across multiple marketsCollaborative and entrepreneurial environmentCompetitive compensation package
