Being proactively involved during all stages of a project's life cycle from conception, design, completion, and into post-sale support allows WECI to provide the best solutions and products to meet both the application and customer needs and requirements.Position SummaryThe role performs in-shop repair and maintenance of rotating equipment, including pumps, motors, gearboxes, mixers, and similar equipment used in water, wastewater, and industrial applications. This role is responsible for diagnosing problems, disassembling and reassembling equipment, testing repaired units, preparing repair parts lists, maintaining service records, and assisting with field service work when needed.Key Duties And Essential Functions Inspect, test, diagnose, disassemble, clean, repair, reassemble, and test pumps, mixers, motors, gearboxes, and related equipment. Prepare bill of materials for equipment refurbishment and repair. Use hand tools, hydraulic equipment, overhead cranes, forklifts, hand trucks, and other shop equipment safely and properly. Haul equipment to and from the shop as needed and secure equipment for transport. Clean work areas, tools, machines, and equipment. Assist with field repairs and service work as required. Prepare written service reports and maintain repair and service records. Communicate with the Service Manager and other staff by phone and email regarding repair status and service needs. Promote company products and services during customer interactions when appropriate. Perform other related duties as assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities None.Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. 2-4 years of mechanical repair, pump repair, motor repair, shop service, or related experience. Ability to inspect, troubleshoot, and repair rotating equipment. Ability to read and interpret manuals, work instructions, and safety procedures. Ability to prepare basic written reports and service documentation. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and internet use. Valid driver’s license. Ability to lift tools and equipment and perform physical shop work safely.Physical DemandsLifting and Carrying: Frequently required to lift, carry, and move items, typically weighing up to 50 lbs. Heavier items may require team lifting or the use of equipment (e.g., pallet jacks or forklifts).Standing and Walking: Prolonged periods of standing and walking are common. The job often requires moving around the warehouse or storage areas to receive and organize inventory.Bending, Stooping, and Reaching: Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching overhead to handle products or inventory on shelves.Use of Hands and Arms: Regularly required to use hands and arms for grasping, lifting, and handling boxes, tools, or machinery. Fine motor skills may also be required for data entry or handling smaller items.Pushing/Pulling: May need to push or pull heavy carts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks loaded with products.Climbing: May involve occasional climbing on ladders or steps to reach items stored on higher shelves.Working ConditionsWarehouse or Distribution Environment: Work is primarily performed in a warehouse or receiving dock environment, which may expose the employee to varying weather conditions.Temperature Extremes: May be hot or cold in non-climate-controlled warehouses.Noise Level: Warehouses can be noisy, especially when heavy machinery like forklifts or pallet jacks are in use.Safety Equipment: May require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety shoes, hard hats, or reflective vests, depending on the workplace and job tasks.Repetitive Tasks: Many of the tasks involved in receiving (scanning, inspecting, lifting, and moving items) may be repetitive, requiring sustained attention to detail and physical effort.COMPENSATION: The hourly rate for this role will be $28-$32 per hour.
