Senior Construction Manager, Distribution Oversight - Electrical Utilities
ApplyJob TypeFull-timeDescriptionWe are seeking a highly organized and proactive individual to oversee and coordinate electric distribution construction contractors at the district level. This role plays a key part in supporting our client’s strategic initiatives by ensuring that construction activities are executed efficiently, safely, and in alignment with project goals.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesCoordinate, oversee, schedule processes and procedures for supplying electric power with key stakeholders including members, developers and contracted crewsPlan, organize and monitor the work assigned to the contractors performing work in their assigned district(s)Inspect, review and approve work completed by construction contractorsWork with district level leadership to ensure accuracy of as built vs. as billed items on invoicingWork with Distribution Operations Technicians, managers, planning and design leads to ensure system and district one-line diagrams, maps and computer mapping is current and reflects recent facility additions or correctionsCoordinate with project managers, department members, construction crews, and civil inspectors to determine right of way requirementsCoordinate pre-construction meetingsInterpret, adhere to and enforce the company safety policy, the Line Extension Policy and the National Electric Safety CodeInspect the URD and OH construction and maintenance work of construction contractors and PEC crewsEnsure contractors have met all of Client's specifications, local and National Electric Safety Code regulationNotify supervisors and other appropriate personnel of problems encountered in the inspection processMake recommendations for process improvements and solutions to problemsServe as the subject matter expert on electrical distribution construction issuesProvide day-to-day technical directionMaintain performance matrix on construction contractorsMaintain the security of confidential informationStay abreast of advances in technologySupervisory and/or Leadership Responsibilities: Provide technical direction and day-to-day instruction to construction contractors or Client's crews assigned to the district(s) or other areas.Knowledge, Skills And AbilitiesKnowledge of using computer systems, which may include setting up and using hardware and software programs, entering data or processing mapping informationKnowledge of principles and processes for providing customer serviceKnowledge of the current Global Information System mapping systemKnowledge of relevant inspection equipment, construction specifications, underground developer specifications, policies and proceduresKnowledge of National Electric Code and National Electric Safety Code specificationsKnowledge of Client's Specification and the Safety Manual'sSkilled in time managementSkilled in prioritizing and managing changing prioritiesSkilled in establishing and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external customersAbility to work across organizational boundariesAbility to traverse all types of terrainAbility to work in adverse weather conditionsAbility to communicate effectively verbally and in writingAbility to anticipate, identify, analyze and resolve conflict and problemsPhysical Demands And Work EnvironmentThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
